**Salvia splendens **
Slow growing bushy perennial grown as an annual
large dark green toothed leaves and dense spikes of (primarily) scarlet flowers in summer and autumn. Traditional bedding scheme plant.

Tagetes patula
French marigold, deeply cut aromatic leaves and smaller flowerheads, orange/red/yllow shades and bi-colours.

Dahlia ‘Bishop of Llandaff’
Dark-leaved form overwintered as a tuber, height and spread 1.2m, flowers single profuse and striking scarlet against the dark foliage. Excellent for tropical scheme or dot plant. Late summer colour. Full sun.
