What is a reasonable adjustment?
Any adjustment that can be made to remove or reduce a disadvantage related to disability/ access to care. This should not incur disproportionate cost to the business.
What should be done if reasonable adjustments cannot be made?
Contact community dentist / seek out a more accessible practice
What are examples of mobility aids
Hoist
Reclining wheelchair/ wheelchair recliner
Banana board, turn table, stand aid
What is rheumatoid arthritis?
Autoimmune condition whereby patients immune system has become dysregulated and is attacking cells lining the joints.
This inflammation causes stiffness, swelling nd painful joints.
What is osteoporosis?
A condition where the bone becomes weaker and more fragile, decreased bone turnover.
What is a dental implication of RA?
Increased risk of infection and delayed healing
Increased risk of periodontal disease
