Conservative - hydration, weight loss, diet changes, weight loss, remove thiazides and loop diuretics
Medical:
NSAIDs ibuprofen 400mg OD
Steroids pred 40mg OD
Colchicine 1.2 mg initial
Long-term allopurinol with colchicine

Rheumatoid arthritis

A

Conservative - MDT approach with PT, OT, rheum, podiatry etc
Medical - DMARD, methotrexate (FBC, renal, liver) or hydroxychloroquine
Corticosteroids at start/flare
Biologics if no response
Surgical - ortho opinion

A

Conservative - patient education, muscle strengthening, weight loss?
Medical - topical NSAID + paracetamol + oral NSAID + capsaicin + opioid

A

Cannot be cured.
Steroids in acute exacerbation.
Antifibrotics e.g. pirfenidone in IPF
Smoking cessation, pulmonary rehab, long-term oxygen
