syntax
The study of how words combine systematically and emotionally in order to create phases and sentences
syllogism
starts an argument with a reference to something general, and from this it draws a conclusions about something more specific
synaesthesia
describing and combing two or more different senses, intertwining them
synecdoche
a figure of speech in which a part is made to represent the whole or vice versa
syllogism
an instance of a form of reasoning in which a conclusion is drawn (whether validly or not) from two given or assumed propositions (premises), each of which shares a term with the conclusion, and shares a common or middle term not present in the conclusion
SEMANTICS
the branch of linguistics and logic concerned with meaning.
satire

to persuade an audience by purposely evoking certain emotions to make them feel the way the author wants them to feel.
logos
to appeal to the audiences’ sense of reason or logic.
