Fallacies are common errors in reasoning that will undermine the logic of your argument. Fallacies can be either illegitimate arguments or irrelevant points and are often identified because they lack evidence that supports their claimm.

A

This fallacy occurs when you argue that your conclusion must be true or false because there is no evidence to prove it either way. This fallacy wrongly shifts the burden of proof away from the one making the claim.

A

A

This is an attack on the character of a person rather than their opinions or arguments.

e.x. Green peace’s strategies aren’t effective because they are all dirty, lazy hippies.

A

You asked a question that had a presumption built into it so that it couldn’t be answered without guilty.

e.x. Is your neighbor still complaining about your body odor?
(Person is guilty of body odor, so they cannot say they do not have it)

A

Based on the assumption that the opinion of the majority is always valid: that is, everyone believes it, so you should too.

e.x. More and more people are buying i phones, you should get one too.
