Diacope
The repetition of a word/phrase with one or two words in between (home sweet home)
Progressio
Repeatedly saying something, then its opposite (a different thing, and its opposite)
Chiasmus
When words are presented in one order, then the reverse (if you can’t be with the one you love, love the one you’re with)
Anaphora
Repetition of the same word/phrase at the start of multiple sentences
Anadiplosis
Connecting one sentence/clause to the next by repeating a word at the end of one clause and the start of the next

Polysyndeton
Repetition of a conjunction, usually ‘and’
Asyndeton
Omission or absence of a conjunction between parts of a sentence.
Litotes
An understatement in which an affirmative statement is expressed by negating its opposite (eg ‘not bad’)
Amplification
Expanding on an original statement and increasing its intensity with repetition
Anacoluthon
Disrupting the expected grammar/syntax of a sentence
Hypophora
Proposing a question and following it up with a clear answer
Procatalepsis
Anticipating and noting a potential objection, then providing a counter argument.
