Hyperbole
refers to statements that use exaggerated language to emphasize a point
Imagery
uses a vivid description that appeals to a reader’s senses to create an image or idea in their head
Juxtaposition
when a writer or speaker places two things side by side to highlight their differences
Euphemism
a polite phrase or word used in place of one that may be too direct or harsh
Metaphor
a comparison between two unlike things

Parallelism
a balance within one or more sentences of similar phrases or clauses that have the same grammatical structure
