Allusion

Analogy
figurative device that draws a parallel between two unlike things that have several common qualities of points of resemblance.
Diction
the word choice that a writer or speaker uses
Hyperbole
refers to a statement that uses exaggerated language to emphasize a point
Imagery
vivid description that appeals to readers senses to create an image or idea in their head
Juxtaposition
when a writer or speaker places two things side by side to highlight their differences
Euphemism
polite phrase or word used in place of one that may be to direct or harsh
Metaphor
a comparison between two unlike things not using like or as

how the text is being presented to readers, whos point of view is the text being told from

a balance within one or more sentences of similar phrases or clauses that have the same grammatical structure

when an author asks a question thats not meant to be answered but to prove a point

when an author repeats a word or phrases to add emphasis on a specific topic
