A question used for a dramatic effect than an answer
Antithesis
A literary device that positions opposite ideas parallel to each other
Diction
The linguistic choices an author uses to convey a point
Repetition
Using the same word or phrase over and over
Parallelism
When parts of a sentence are grammatically the same or similar
Allusion
Indirect reference to a person, place thing, etc
Biblical Allusion
Same thing as allusion but bible
Analogy
A comparison between two things to show similarity
Aphorism
A saying that contains a general truth
Emotional Appeal
Pathos, appeal to the audience through emotions
Ethical Appeal
Ethos, appeal to the audience through ethics
Logical Appeal
Logos, appeal to the audience through logic
Appeal to association
Suggestion for somebody to do something because everybody else does it
Appeal to authority
Suggestions for somebody to do something because a famous person does it
