Define Ethos:
Ethos refers to the way the speaker/writer’s reputation, their credibility, knowledge, trustworthiness, can heighten the strength of an argument.

Define Pathos:
Pathos refers to the way a speech appeals to the audience’s basic human emotions, e.g. fear, pity and joy.

Define Logos:
Logos refers to the way logic and facts are used to build a better understanding of the correctness of the speaker/writer’s message.

Direct address refers to using the second person pronoun ‘you’ to address your audience.

Anecdotes refers to a story, using your own or someone else’s experience, to illustrate a point.
