17
Q

Why was the Battle of Saratoga a turning point in the Revolutionary War?

A

British were weakened and not prepared to fight the Battle. A lot of soldiers (mainly British) died. Many countries realized America stood a chance against the British.

18
Q

How did James Armistead help the American cause?

A

He spied for Lafayette and posed as a servant for Cornwallis. He passed him false information and the Patriots therefore were able to attack the British at Yorktown.

19
Q

ESSAY: What lasting effects did the American Revolution have on our nation.

A

Without the Revolutionary War, we would have never gained our independence. We may even have been British colonies without the Revolutionary War. The Americans fought hard and in the end gained independence.
Another effect was the many soldiers’ deaths. It may not have been a happy effect, but a lot of soldiers died as an effect of the Revolutionary War. Many soldiers lost their lives fighting for America’s independence.
