What us osmosis?
The movement of water in a cell
What is isotonic
If the concentration of solution outside of the cell, is to same as internal concentration of the cell.
What is hypertonic
If the concentration of solution outside the cell is higher then the internal concentration of the cell
What is hypotonic
If the concentration of the solutes in the cell then outside of the cell then the cell is hypotonic
What is lysis
Lysis is the term used when a cell bursts
What is crenation
The term used when a cell losses water and it shrivels up / shrinks
When is turgid
When vacual of a plant cell expands ad stretches the cell
What is active transport
Active transport is the transport of particles using energy from a high to low concentration
What is diffusion
The movement of particles from a high to low concentration
What does a carrier protein do
Special proteins that span across the cell membrane to allow particles into the cell using active transport

Osmosis, diffusion
