Q

Explain the relationship between organisms tissues, cells, organs and systems.

A

A cell is a single unit of an organism. When many cells form together, tissues are formed. When loads of tisssues form together, organs are formed. When organs work with other organs in our body, a system is formed. When there are groups of systems, organisms are formed.

Q

What’d does the diaphragm do in the respiratory system?

A

The diaphragm controls breathing. When you inhale,it flattens out and pulls forward, making more space for the lungs. When you exhale, the diaphragm expands and forces air out.

Q

Describe the purpose of the respiratory system

A

The primary role of the respiratory system is to transport air into the lungs and to facilitate the diffusion of oxygen into the blood stream. This system also receives waste carbon dioxide from the blood and exhales it.

16
Q

What is meant by chemical digestion?

A

A chemical process where the chemicals in food are changed into different chemicals that are soluble in water.

17
Q

What is meant by mechanical digestion?

A

A physical process that breaks food into smaller pieces.

Eg: teeth chewing, stomach contracting.

18
Q

What is the main job of the circulatory system?
