Revision Flashcards
A design specification contains information about what?
Input
Output
Data storage
User interfaces
Backup and recovery procedures
Security procedures
When testing a new app or game it is Important to consider what?
Do the changes work the way they were meant to?
Is the system as fast as it should be?
Is it easy to navigate?
Are the graphics sharp?
What type of prototyping is required?
What is Prototyping?
A prototype is a working model of a design that is presented to the users to test and then feedback on what they liked and disliked.
What are the 2 different types of prototyping?
Evolutionary and throwaway prototyping.
What is evolutionary prototyping?
Evolutionary prototyping is a method of developing a system from a basic model through to the final system by renewing and updating the system.
What is throwaway prototyping?
Throwaway prototyping is when a small part of the system is developed and then given to an end user to try it. The user provides feedback which can quickly be incorporated into the development of the main system the prototype is then discarded or thrown away.
What is Bluetooth?
A short range wireless technology which allows 2 devices to connect for the purpose of communication
What is broadband?
A telecommunications link that provides a wide bandwidth communication for high speed internet.
What is a buffer)
Computer memory used to store a part of the video download before it’s watched
What is a bug?
Bug is another word for for error or fault, which leads to errors in the execution of a program or application.
What is streaming?
Process that allows video to be viewed on a website straight away without having to wait for the full video to be downloaded.
What is data redundancy?
The unnecessary repetition of data in a database.
What is a foreign key
A key field in one table used to create a link between data in another table
What is a key field?
The field that uniquely identifies one record
What are interactive web elements?
Elements in a package which prompt interaction from the end user.
What is a natural language interface?
A means of interacting with digital technology in everyday language
What is Data integrity?
The accuracy and constiency of data stored in a database
What is a query?
Used to search and extract data from the database to find the answer to a question.
What is a report?
Allows tables and results from queries to be presented in a user friendly way to Read
