Intracytoplasmic sperm injection
Specialized procedure in which a single sperm cell is injected into an egg cell. The fertilized egg is then placed into the mothers uterus.
Gamete intrafallopian transfer
Egg cells are removed from a woman’s ovaries and combined with sperms cells outside of the body. The mixture of eggs and sperm is injected into the mothers Fallopian tubes so an egg cell may be fertilized.
In vitro fertilization
Woman’s egg cell is placed in a petrol dish, and then sperm is injected into the dish. Fertilized egg is then placed into uterus
Stem cells
Unused embryos to help cure disease or regrow impaired or lost organs
Artificial Insemination
Collecting sperm and injecting it into a female
Surrogate mother
Becomes pregnant and gives birth to a baby

Forms skin and nervous system
Mesoderm
Forms kidneys, skeleton, muscles, blood vessels, and reproductive organs

Forms lungs, liver, and lining of digestive system
First trimester

Second trimester
Lasts 16-24 week
Length 20-35cm
Fetal movements felt
Eyelids open, fetus can survive outside mother with specialized care
Third trimester
Lasts 26-38 weeks
Length 40-50cm
Rapid weight gain occurs due to the growth and accumulation of fat
