What does patient access complete in the cycle?
Collects patients demographics, why they are visiting, Pre-auth, eligibility check, and financial counseling happens here.
What does Health Information Management (H.I.M) complete in the cycle?
The doc notes from the visit is then sent to HIM to be coded and they also review medical records to ensure the codes are accurate. They also handle denied claims if there is a coding issue.
What does patient financial services complete in the rev cycle?
They receive the claim after it has been converted into codes. Then we process the claim for payment from the insurance company. Also, troubleshoot why it has been rejected or denied.
