Loyalist
People in the American colonies who wanted the colonies to remain under the control of the king and Great Britain. Loyalist forces were loyal to the king and opposed independence.
Neutralists
American colonists who did not support either side (Loyalists or Patriot) i the fight for independence from Great Britain.
Patriots
People in the American colonies who wanted the colonies to break away from Great Britain. Such people favored independence for the colonies.
Traitor
A person guilty of acting against his or her own country.
First continental congress
Patriots ask king George for them not to fight.
American Revolution
Many of the Africans on the slave ships had never seen white skin before, some thought that the white men would boil and eat them.
Battle of bunker Hill
First battle where the patriots show that they could win it.
Boston Tea party
People throw tea over the ship and that the tea cost a lot of money to get and they drink tea everyday.
Committees of correspondence
Committees of correspondence were emergency’ provisional government set up in the 13 colonies in response to Britain policies leading up to Revolutionary war.
Townshend Acts
Townshend Act was basically Taxes on paint.
