What is a retrograde? How does having planets retrograde in a chart affect someone?
On a chart, it’s a different funnel of expression. Planet appears to be moving back in the sky. Change in directions. Revisiting the past. Re-invention. Refinement. External to internal. Different approach depending on planet. Internal first then outwards. For people that have natal retrogrades, they may need to go inward and figure out the planet for themselves. They are unusual and different in their approach based on the themes of this planet that is retrograde in their chart.
How can you find a retrograde in someone’s chart?
If an “r” is next to a planet on the chart
Mercury
they feel and think differently than other people. ideas are different from others. a lot of right-brain creatives have mercury retrograde. Journey of refining how they speak. Journey of expression through communication and speaking. Overthinking tendencies before they speak or blurted out anything as a child. This is a refinement of being diplomatic in their speaking and tell the necessary information. Need to constantly refine speech.
Venus
Internal desire to identify what is valuable to them. Feel out of step in aesthetic references and romantic references. Need an emphasize on self love before they can find love in others. This tendency can make someone with a venus retrograde have many different relationships looking for validation in these relationships. It’s a journey of finding love within themselves. Finding their own beauty. Journey on figuring out their financial world.
Mars
Journey to find their motivation and assertion. Need their own way and reasons to get up out of bed everyday for themselves. Learn how to stand up for yourself and to advocate for self. People with this retrograde can have trouble with holding their anger and/or exploding with anger. A journey to deal with anger. What motivates me? What makes me angry?
Jupiter
Deep dive on what I can expand in? What do I truly find meaningful? What am I really interested in? What do I really have faith in? How do I like to study? How can I learn in my own way?
Saturn
Where does my life need more discipline and structure? What am I committed to? What is commitment to me?
Neptune
What do I really believe in? What do I merge into? What do I need to strengthen my intuition? And my trust in my intuition?
Uranus
Where do I feel the need to rebel? Where do I resist change? What do I need to break out of the mold that I feel like I’m in?
Pluto
Where am I suppressing my own power? Where am I resisting inevitable destruction and change? Where am I looking for power from external factors?
