What happened due to the expansion of the states?
By 1900, millions of immigrants from all over the world came into the U.S.
What happened to Ireland and France as a result?
Ireland and France both were inspired to also do a revolution i.e. the French revolution in 1789 and the 1789 United Irishmen rebellion.
Did the Declaration of Independence really mean “all mean are created equal”?
No, that only applied to white men and not to women, black slaves or Native Americans. But this ideal inspired these groups to fight for equal rights.
How were women not treated equal?
They were treated as 2nd class citizens with few rights separate from those of their husbands or fathers.
How were black slaves not treated equal?
They were kept by their owners across the southern U.S.
How were Native Americans not treated equal?
Hundreds of thousands were killed, were driven from their land and nearly saw an extinction of their culture.
