What is this and what is it for?

A Bark Collar.
A device that shocks the animal when it makes a noise. Should never be used on a wet animal. Some have remote controls, made for different lengths of animals hair

A Cat Bag.
Used to restrain cats for exam, shots, blood word. Enables access thru zippers or slits.
What is this and what is it for?

A Basket Muzzle.
Can be made of plastic, leather or leather/wire combo. Stops animal from biting you. Allows animals to pant for body temperature control. Secure so animal cannot take off or inhibit breathing. Do not use if animal vomiting.

Brace Lead
Enables walking two animals at a time

A Cat Harness.
Goes around neck and chest area. Can be made of nylon, plastic or leather
What is this and what is it for?

A Cat Nylon Muzzle.
Small hole for the nose of the cat. Rest of it fits over the eyes and muzzle area. Can be used on blunt or pop eyed dogs to protect eye area, too
What is this and what is it for?

A Choke Chain Collar.
Use this to train animals. Never leave animals alone with this on. Do not tie off animals using this collar. Left along the animals could choke themselves

A Elizabethan (E-) Collar.
Used to keep animals from licking, scratching or chewing areas from injury, surgery or medication application. Comes in various sizes and materials

A Gauze Leash-Muzzle.
Use non-stretch gauze. Can be carried in pocket for leash or muzzle. Always tie off with a bow, not a knot for easy release in case of emergency
What is it and what is it for?

Horse Chain Shank
Can be leather/nylon combo. The shank (chain) lead hooks to the horse bridle, usually 2-3 ft long. No handle on it so it can be tried or dropped in emergency. The lead either rope, nylon or leather can burn hands if it slips thru them. Snap the chain thru the halter to the opposite side over the nose for more control. Not recommended for noives is placing the chain under the upper lip and across. Be aware of chain and safety using it

A Horse Halter
Generally used for horses in pasture, baddock, trailering or stalls. Usually made of rope, nylon, or leather. Check for problems before use. Enables handler to grab animal head or attach leads.

A Chain Leash
Usually breaks where handle/chain connect and at snap. Chain size doesn’t prevent this. Not recommended for hard to handle animals

A Jeweler Link Chain
Nice looking but may break at weak points or bends. Not recommended for choke collar training animals. Okay for use after trained

A Leather Leash
Latiago leather leash is best. Easy on hands, strong and lasts for years. Comes in many sizes and thickness, usually 6 ft long. Strong swivel brass snap. As with all leashes, do not loop your wrist or arm through the handle. Bones can be broken from the animas strong sudden pull

A Leather Slip Leash
Sometimes called a kennel lead. Loop at one of the ends can be adjusted and used as slip collars for dogs and cats. Other end can be tied if needed. Very useful in kennels and animal control. Easy to keep in pockets and strong enough to do your job

Lip Chain
Hook one side on hore halter and place across the nose thru the other side. Pull triangle on chain to get horses attention

A Martingale Collar
Not recommended for general use. Does not control animal well

A Neck Restraint-Support Collar
Used to keep an animal from turning head and as support for neck if needed. Must fit between ears and shoulder area properly, various sizes available

A Nylon Collar
Also in leather. Will tighten and not slip over head. Not a choke collar. Good for ID tags. Not recommended for cats

A Pinch Collar
Has spikes that dig into skin of animal. Some people sharpen the spikes. Should never be used by a novice person. Does not always give control people hope for. Upper left one has a plastic cover over spikes

A Plastic Slip Leash
Same use as gauze leash-muzzle. It can burn hands if it slips thru them

A Restraint-Capture Pole
Used to capture or secure the head of an animal so that it may be placed in a cage, run, or injected with meds

A Tourniquet
Used as a last resort for animal injury to stop blood flow. Also used during surgery

A Nylon Dog Muzzle
Comes in various sizes. Must fit snug, but not cutt of breathing. Do not use if animal is vomiting or has problems breathing. Snap or Velcro closures

A Nylon Leash
Weak at snap areas and can break if animal is strong. Also will burn hands if pulled thru them
