Sympathomimetic, Beta 2 Agonist (Bronchodilator)
What are the indications for Albuterol?
Wheezing associated with Asthma, Emphysema, and Bronchitis
What are the contraindications for Albuterol?
Tachycardia, Dysrhythmias
What is the Adult dose of Albuterol?
2.5mg in 3mL, max of 10mg
What is the Pediatric dose of Albuterol?
1.25mg-2.5mg in 3mL, max of 5mg
What are the Routes for Albuterol?
Nebulized
What Class is Atrovent?
Parasympatholytic, Anticholinergic, M3 Antagonist (Bronchodilator)
What are the Indications for Atrovent?
Wheezing associated with Asthma, Emphysema, and Bronchitis (used in conjuction with Albuterol)
What are the Contraindications for Atrovent?
Hypersensitivity to Ipratropium, Atropine, Alkaloids, Peanuts
What is the Adult dose for Atrovent?
0.5mg in 3 mL
What is the Pediatric dose for Atrovent?
0.25mg in 3 mL
What are the Routes for Atrovent?
Nebulized
What Class is Benadryl?
Antihistamine H-1 blocker
What are the Indications for Benadryl?
Anaphylaxis reaction. Used in conjunction with Albuterol and Epi during asthma attack or anaphylaxis reaction
What are the Contraindications for Benadryl?
Newborns or premature infants, breastfeeding. Use caution with asthma, narrow angle glaucoma, and PTs taking MAOIs (Psych Meds)
What is the Adult dose for Benadryl?
25-50mg
