A

Beta receptor agonist

  • Short-acting inhaled bronchodilator. Relaxes bronchial smooth muscle through effects on beta 2 receptors
  • Used in asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
  • Salmeterol has similar effects but is long-acting
