Respiratory Flashcards
5 Conditions Likely to lead to respiratory acidosis
COPD, obesity, asthma, ALS, drug overdose
Hypo Ventilation Causes alkalosis or acidosis?
Acidocis
Hyper Ventilation Causes alkalosis or acidosis?
Alkalosis
How does gas (decreased ventilation) make the bood acidic?
H+ drops pH; therefore as CO2 builds up(creating more hydrogen) in the body the pH of blood decreases causing acidosis
Bronchiogenic carcinomas are correlated w/
smoking, air pollution, and genetics
Are Bronchiogenic carcinomas more common in right or left lung
right, upper, anterior lobe
Positive TB tests means
you have the antibody for TB
When given a TB test what is injected into skin
mycobacterium tuberculosis produces tuberculin so this is what we inject to see if there is an antibody
