Respiration Flashcards
What is aerobic respiration?
glucose + oxygen —– carbon dioxide + water
Where does aerobic respiration?
Mitochondria
The solid part of the blood
Red blood cell
White blood cell
Platelet
The liquid part of the blood
Blood plasma ( consists of water and protein )
Why does the red blood cell have no nucleus?
To make room for the hemoglobin
what is the function of white blood cells?
fight infection
What is the function of red bood cell?
Carry oxygen
What is the function of platelet?
Stops bleeding
What is pathogen?
A virus or bacteria that can cause illness
What are the different antibodies for different pathogens?
Kill directly
Glue all the pathogen together
What are antibodies?
Chemicals that kill pathogen
What do cells need to respire?
Glucose and oxygen
Anaerobic
no need oxygen
Aerobic
need oxygen (long run)
