By accepting diversity and the unconditional worth and rights of all people.

By openly communicating and managing my services, evaluate what we are doing and take responsibility for the results.

Believing every person has the potential for growth and development and providing the opportunities and support for changes to occur.
How will you demonstrate recognition?
By believing our strength and most important resource is our staff and that they are significantly more effective in a safe, challenging and rewarding work environment.

By providing and integrated service and work together with individuals, communities and organizations to achieve a safe and crime free society.

- friends / family incarcerated
- Doing a side job with a convict (roofing business)
- Working with a family member
- Accepting something from an inmate
- Using government property to serve or promote their personal or private Interests.
What does respect mean to you?
To me respect means to be treated with fairness
List 5 different examples of harassment
- Sexual comments and touching
- Behaviour that gives you reason to believe that you or any other person is at risk.
- Acts causing psychological trauma
- Mental cruelty and intimidation ( demean/belittle/humiliate/embarrass)
- Comments regarding a persons ethnicity, national origin, gender, religion, disability or sexual orientation. (Jokes/ name calling)
- Text messages, emails, social media
Define harassment
Is any object able or offensive behaviour that is known, or ought to be reasonably known, to be unwelcome.
What is workplace violence?
Workplace violence is defined as any attempt or actual act or behaviour in which an employee is threatened, abused, or assaulted in the workplace, or continuing from the workplace, that gives a person reasonable cause to believe their (or another persons) safety or health is at risk.
List 5 examples of workplace violence.
1) verbal insults / Threats
2) those regarding a persons religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, disability.
3) fighting words (profanity or obscure gestures)
4) throwing objects
5) brandishing a weapon or object that appears to be a weapon
What is a conflict of interest?
Any situation in which an employee has a private or personal interest that results in or creates the appearance of improperly influencing the performance of their official duties and responsibilities.
