Resonant DC-link inverter Flashcards
1
Q
What does I_L0 mean
A
It is the current i_l when S turns off
2
Q
What part is the ‘resonant sub cycle’
A
The part of the cycle from when S turns off and D turns on (the part where the capacitor charges and discharges)
3
Q
When does the highest value of iD occur
A
The instant the diode turns on
4
Q
What is the whole point of a resonant DC-link inverter
A
To get the switching in the main circuit to happen at 0V
5
Q
How do you find the conduction time of S
A
S starts conducting when il = Io and stops conducting when il = I_L0
Use v=Ldi/dt, where ΔI = I_L0 - Io and v=Vd
6
Q
How do you find the conduction time of the diode
A
D turns on at t2 (which is when vc=0 for 2nd time) D turns off at t3 (which is when iD = 0) Find t3 from iD = Io - iL - At iD = 0, iL=Io therefore find the time that iL = Io Then do t3-t2
