why was it difficult for slaves to resist?
A
they were scared, had no idea what was happening or where they were going.
No leadership amongst slaves.
Slaves spoke different languages.
Lack of opportunity - in chains and usually below deck.
Weak from hunger and disease
No weapons, unless they could steal ‘objects’ to use.
Put off by severe punishment
Slaves did not have the skills to navigate and steer the ship
