A
- students have less power and status than adults which makes it difficult to state their attitudes and views openly

A
- group interviews than one to one interviews which makes children feel lesser than adults
- E.G: pupils who resent power of teachers are less likely to cooperate but some may feel empowered by participating

- pupils don’t understand things as much as adults
- it limits who much they understand and explain the questions asked to them

A
- explain things to them in a way they can understand and match the students up with the same researcher so they feel comfortable
- E.G: age, class and ethnic variations in the language that used so it’s more beneficial to match gender and ethnicity background of the students and researcher

A
- young people are more vulnerable to physical and psychological than adults

A
- tell young person the purpose of the research
- E.G: vulnerability of children so child protection is important

- child protection laws like ‘Safeguarding vulnerable groups’ (2006) operate schemes on adults working in schools

- organisations like Bardnados have developed special codes so there are guidelines for what you cant and cannot do
