Research Methods II Flashcards
What is the difference between a histogram and a frequency distribution graph?
Histogram is a type of graph used to report the number of times groups of values appear in the data set. Frequency distribution is a type of graph used to report the distribution of how frequently values appear in the data set.
Define standard deviation.
Standard deviation is a measure of the average distance of each data point from the mean. Larger the speed, the larger the standard deviation.
What is the significance of the T-test?
The t-test considers each data point from both groups to calculate the probability that two samples were drawn from the same population.
What is the p-value?
It is the value expressing the probability calculated from the t-test. If the p-value is less than 0.05 the results are said to be statistically significant.
