Questionnaire
Preparing a set of questions and distributing copies of them to a selected group of people
Content Analysis
This research technique requires the development of a systematic process for examining the subject matter of a source of information such as TV, magazines, radio, films, graffiti, newspapers or songs
Interview
Is essentially a conversation between two people that takes place with the aim of communicating specific information
Observation
Observation involves watching the action taking place without actively engaging in it or interacting with the participants
Secondary research
Finding out information from books, journals, magazines, newspapers, pamphlets, internet sites etc. in other words we research by studying other people’s views and findings
Statistical analysis
Is a powerful quantitative tool. As a researcher, it is vital to have the capacity to deal with statistical data
Primary research
The ability to find out information first hand through interviews, questionnaires, observations, statistical analysis, content analysis
Quantitative
Information is collected by counting and is able to be collated into percentages and then represented by tables and graphs
Qualitative
Rely on the researchers interpretive skills to understand the often complex and detailed data gathered.
