What does it mean by condition?
An experiment usually organised so there is two trials, after which the performances by participants are compared.
What does it mean by experiment?
The method of which all variables other than the independent and dependent at controlled. This allows the researcher to identify the relationship between the DV and IV
What is the independent variable?
The variable the researcher changes to look for an affect on another variable.
What is the dependent variable?
The variable the researcher measures to is if the IV has affected it.
What is the hypothesis?
A testable statement about the relationship between the two variables.
What are independent groups?
Advantage
Disadvantage
Two separate groups.
There are no other affects because participants only take part in one condition.
You need more people for the study.
What are repeated measures?
Advantage
Disadvantage
One group
No participant variables
