What is energy
Energy allows living organisms to do things such as move or grow. The main source of energy for living things is the sun. Plants can make their own food using the sun during the process of photosynthesis. They store this energy as starch. Animals cannot make their own food. The get their energy by eating plants or animals.
Why do living things need gases
Both carbon dioxide and oxygen are gases that are found in the atmosphere. They are also found dissolved in water. Most organisms need oxygen for the process of Respiration. During Respiration, oxygen is taken in by plants and animals and is used to break down food to release energy. Plants need carbon dioxide to make food during photosynthesis.
Why do living things need water
The water in your blood carries food and chemicals around your body. It helps get rid of waste and is used to cool you down. Plants use water to grow and for photosynthesis
Why do living things need favurabal temperatures?
Plants and animals have adjusted to the average temperature in their area. Anything that is too hot or cold, those plants and creatures connot survive in.
Why do plants need soil
. Soil keeps plants stable.
. They get water and nutrients from soil
. Animals such as earthworms that live in the soil help with the plants fertilization.
