Reproductive system Flashcards
what is the vas deferens
they are tubes that allow the sperm to move up to the seminal vesicle
what is the bladder
the bladder stores urine and it is not part of the reproductive system.
what is the rectum and anus
the rectum holds feces and the anus is the opening where feces come out of the body
what is the seminal vesicle
the seminal vesicle produces fluids that feeds and protects the sperm.
what is the prostate gland
the prostate gland supplies most of the liquid combines with
the sperm to make semen. when a person is sexually aroused the fluid from the prostate gland combines with the sperm. strong muscle contractions in and around the prostate gland contract rapidly to force the semen out the urethra. this is called ejaculation.
what is the urethra and penis
the urethra is the tube for urine and semen to leave the body. the penis during sexual arousal. the spongy tissues fills with blood and the penis hardens .this is called erection.
what is the testicles and the epididymis
Each testicle has an epididymis, which sits on top of each testicle. Each testicle contains tiny tubes that make sperm, the sperm will move to the epididymis to finish developing.
what is the Clitoris
the clitoris is a sensitive bump. it is a sex organ that becomes larger and firmer during sexual arousal.
what is the labia majora and the labia minora
the labia majora is the outer fold and labia minora is the inner fold. both of these folds help protect the vagina urethra.
what is the urethra opening
the urethra opening is a small tube that carries urine from the bladder out of the body.
what is the Vaginal opening
the vaginal opening leads to the vagina
what is the anus
the anus is where feces leave the body
what is the ovary
the ovary is a sack that holds all the eggs until someone hits puberty. the ovary releases one egg a month, this i called ovulation
what is the fallopian tube
the fallopian tube receives the egg released from the ovary. if there is a sperm in the tube then if one sperm fertilizes the egg the fallopian tube will then travel the egg to the uterus.
what is the uterus
the uterus stretches to hold the fetus during pregnancy. it is strong muscular and stretchy.
what is the cervix
the cervix has a very small opening to allow sperm to travel from the vagina into the uterus
what is the vagina
the vagina is a soft muscular elastic tube. during sexual arousal the walls of the vagina make fluid that makes sex more comfortable.
what is the scrotum
the scrotum is a sac of loose skin that holds the testicles. the scrotum has muscles that can move the testicles closer or farther away from the body in response to changing temperatures
where is the scrotum
it is at the very bottom of the diagram
where is the testicles
it is above the scrotum
where is the epididymis
it is above the testicles
where is the vas deferens
it is the ? shaped tube
where is the bladder
it is the big wing looking thing
where is the rectum
it is it is the banana thing
