Name the types of vaginal epithelial cells.

Answer 1

1. Parabasal cells: smallest, high nucleus to cyt ratio (not a lot of cyt)
2. Intermediate cells: 2-3x size of parabasal. Small nucleus:cyt ratio (LOT of cyt)
3. Superficial cells: some have no nuclei (polyconified), sometimes seen in large sheets/strings
