Purpose for Reproduction
Where the baby develops.
Uterus in Cow
Produces the oocytes or the female sex cells, the female eggs and its producing hormones.
Ovary
The site of fertilization.
Oviduct
The opening from the vagina to the uterus.
- Can open when the animal is in heat for sperm to pass through.
- It is closed during pregnancy; acts as a barrier to prevent any bacteria or anything else from going in and affecting the developing embryo or fetus.
Cervix
The site of sperm deposition in a cow, doe, and sow.
Vagina
Sperm will be deposited there, and then travel up the rest of the tract.
Natural Service
Go through the cervix and deposit the semen directly into the body of the uterus.

- Usually closed to help the interior organs from any type of bacteria or feces.

- Sow’s larger than cow because of how many developing.

Where the sperm is concentrated; matured and transported throughout from the testicles onto its next location.

Holds the testicles; helps regulate the temperature.

The male copulatory gland.

Helps add fluid, nutrients, and buffers to the semen.
Seminal Vesicle, Cowper’s Gland, and Prostate Gland
Almost a corkscrew structure.
- Morphology of male/female match.
Boar Penis
In Rooster, has to drop down before ejaculating.
“Phallus” Penis
Referring to the cycle and it is an adjective.
Estrous
Referring to being in heat and it is an noun.
Estrus
Going to ovulate multiple times throughout the year.
Polyestrus
Going to ovulate once a year.
