what is scrotum?
A pouch like body in which testes are present.It is present btw two thighs.
why testes in scrotum?
Before birth testes are in abdomen but as body temp is 37C and testes require 34/35C then it moved to scrotum which maintains temp of testes.
testes are formed of?
Each testis is formed of 250 lobules and each lobule is formed of 1-3 seminiferous tubules.
Where sperms are formed and by which cells?
In seminiferous tubule by spermatogenia.
define other cells of seminiferous tubule?
Sertoli cell–> provide nutrition and nurioshmnet to sperm cell, Make androgen binding factor and form inhibin.
Leydig cell—-> form testosterone/androgen
Define leydig cell?
it is also called interstitial cell because it is present at interstitial space between seminiferous tubules.
it produce testosterone outside seminitubule but sertoli bind oit to seminiferous tubule.
Define sertoli cell?
It is also called nurse cell because it serves sperm as nurse serves baby.
it also form inhibin to inhibit FSH. it makes antimullerin factor in male means undominant female baby producing factor.
