urination, sitting, and walking painful;
Genital herpes
Caused by a viral infection; very contagious; warts vary from separate, small growths to large, cauliflower-like clusters
Genital warts
Caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum; can be spread by sexual contact; multiple
disease stages occur
Syphilis
Caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), which ultimately destroys the immune system
Acquired immunodeficiency
syndrome (AIDS)
