Renewables obligation
Introduced in 2002 - aimed at large commercial scale, licensed electricity suppliers obliged to source 5 of of electricity from renewable source or face a penalty
EU emissions trading scheme
Companies allocated allowances, each representing the right to emit the equivalent of 1 tonne of carbon
Renewable transport fuel obligation
Requires suppliers of road transport fuels to ensure 5% of fuel supplied is made up of renewables
