Considerations of Haemodialysis.

A
  1. Requires good access to abundant blood supply.
  2. Vas Cath (Central Venous Catheter) with 2 Lumens : Acute Setting.
  3. Anticoagulation with Citrate/Hepairin (prevent clotting in haemodialysis machine).

  1. Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (continuous 24/7) - usually in ITU.
  2. Intermittent - set periods e.g. 3-12 hours with break.
