Q

Buffer for ICF? Buffering capacity?

A
  1. Phosphates
  2. Proteins
  3. Other buffers inside the cell
  4. Buffering capacity of ICF is larger- can carry more fluid

8
Q

Levels of which ion is high during acidosis. Explain the mechanism.

A

High Potassium levels- this is due to the countertransporter K+/H+ which will bring one K+ out of the cell and move one H+ into the cell. - cause Plasma levels of K+ to be high
