How does addison’s affect the kidney and Na, K etc.

A
  • Less aldosterone, same renal result as treatment with spironolactone
    • Aldosterone not around to stimulate transcription of ASC
    • Loss of Na+, hyperK+, hypovolaemia

What is a cause of potters facies and symptoms

A

Renal agenesis , - Without amniotic fluid leads to problem with lung developments
- No amniotic fluid to protect the foetus so leads to flattened body of foetus, Flat nose, chin, ears against head
