Flank pain, hematouria, recurrent uti, hypertension, stones
Extra renal
Cyst in liver (benign), pancreas, ovaries or testicular, berry’s aneurysm
Tests to diagnose renal abnormalities
U/s
MRI
IVP
Renal scan
Hydronephrosia
Symptoms : •May be asymptomatic •Flank or abdominal pain •Oliguria •Fever and features of UTI if infected.
Eitology : ❑ Ureteropelvic junction obstruction ❑ Vesicoureteral reflux ❑ Posterior urethral valve ❑ Multi cystic dysplastic kidney ❑ Renal,bladder and ureteric calculi
Dx: u/s
Tx: treat the underlying cause
Upper UTO
Ureteral stenting - Percutaneous nephrostomy
- Lower UTO
Urethral catheterization with a Foley - Suprapubic catheterization if a Foley cannot be passed
