Pathology mechanism?

What increases risk of developing?

Classic signs/symptoms?

A

Appears 5 to 47 days after transplantation (median days 19)

Caused by immunologic reaction of lymphoid cells within the transplanted tissues against the host

increased HLA mismatching increases risk

Watery diarrhoea
Rash (hands + feet)
Raised bilirubin + Alk phos (indicators as next organ affected is liver)
