what is a viewpoint?
the position or perspective from which something is considered or evaluated.
what is perspective?
a particular attitude towards or way of regarding something; a point of view.
what is a tragedy?
a play dealing with tragic events and having an unhappy ending, especially one concerning the downfall of the main character.
what is a tragic hero?
a character in a dramatic tragedy who has positive and helpful traits but ultimately meets with suffering or defeat.
what is characterisation?
a name for the methods a writer uses to reveal a character’s values, feelings, goals, etc. to readers. When revealing a character’s traits, a writer can do so using direct characterization or indirect characterization.
what is the dichotomy of good and evil?
evil is perceived as the antagonistic opposite of good, in which good should prevail and evil should be defeated.

a fatal flaw leading to the downfall of a tragic hero or heroine.

intense and selfish desire for something, especially wealth, power, or food.

the action of hurting or harming someone in return for an injury or wrong suffered at their hands.

what is blank verse?
verse without rhyme, especially that which uses iambic pentameters.
what are iambic pentameters?
a line of verse with five metrical feet, each consisting of one short (or unstressed) syllable followed by one long (or stressed) syllable, for example Two households, both alike in dignity.
