Chiaro Scuro
is the use of strong contrasts between light and dark, usually bold contrasts affecting a whole composition
linear 1 point perspective
system for representing three-dimensional objects and space on a two-dimensional surface by means of intersecting lines that are drawn vertically and horizontally and that radiate from one point
vanishing point
is a point in the picture plane π that is the intersection of the projections (or drawings) of a set of parallel lines in space on to the picture plane.

is a type of narrative where the illustration of several scenes are in a single frame.

- this painting: before the battle ( watching for something to come) → M introduced psychological layer in sculpture
