What are the purposes of remote entry?
Gain access to, entering, disrupting or rendering safe hazardous devices.
What are two requirements for remote entry?
Situation is nonlife threatening, the area can withstand a detonation.
What are the two types of remote entry?
Explosive and nonexplosive.
What is the difference between direct and indirect explosive entry into a suspicious package
Direct use uses explosives as a direct force to enter the package. Indirect use is using explosives as a force to cause a another source or object to impact against the device or target. IE, slug, water, shaped charge.
What is the primary reason a bomb tech should use remote entry on a device?
To avoid unnecessarily risking his life. Keeping exposure to the device to a minimum.
What two rounds could you use against a PVC pipe? What are the setups?
Black powder 36” at 90° center of the pipe, low velocity Clay at 36 inches 90° to the end.
What round should you use for steel internal pipe end caps and what is the set up?
Steel slug at 80° 3 feet to 25 feet away
What is the standard mineral water bottle load?
200 grain per foot Det cord.
What are the two enhanced mineral water bottle loads?
200 grain per foot set cord and detasheet, C4.
What are the recommended standoff distances for the standard loaded mineral water bottle?
1 to 4 inches.
What are the recommended standoff distances for the C1 enhanced mineral water bottle?
1 to 6 inches
What are the recommended standoff distances for the C4 enhanced mineral water bottle?
1 to 7 inches.
What is the maximum standoff distance for the black box mineral water bottle?

How must you prime two or more mineral water bottles in close proximity?
Using primadets with equal length of shock tube.
How can a mineral water bottle system be used?
It can be used as a disablement system by itself or in combination with other disruptive tools.
When using the black box with dual bottles, what are the recommended standoff distances?
Standard load 1 to 4 inches, see one enhanced 1-6 inches, C4 enhanced 1-7 inches. When using three bottles with C4 the standoff is one to 11 inches.
How many grams of C-4 fill the plastic tube of the mineral water bottle?
Half liter bottle equals 13.2 g.
1.5 L bottle equals 25.4 g.

32 ounce equals 3.5 inches below laser. 64 ounce equals 4.5 inches below the laser. 128 ounce equals 5.875 inches below the laser.
