It is colloquial language which most of the first half is it makes killing someone seem casual
What is the significance of ‘ every round as it rips through his life’?
The hard ‘r’ sound reflects the violence of the image. It brings his memory more to life through sound
What is the significance of ‘His bloody life in my bloody hands’?
The repetition shows the memory of death keeps returning. His courted memories of war are flooded with guilt for taking a mans life, making us sympathise with him
