one islamic view on divorce is that it isn’t advised. for example, the prophet muhammed pbuh said that “divorce is the most hated of all lawful things”. this is a weak argument because it is still allowed and permissable, just disliked which muslims can repent for.

one christian view on divorce is that it is allowed under very severe circumstances such as abuse. for example, jesus’ teaching of agape love teaches christians to always try to do the most compassionate thing. this is also a weak argument because in the bible it states “what god has joined let no man seperate”, which contradicts divorce.

another muslim view on divorce is that it’s wrong because Allah swt only made one partner for everyone. for example, the qur’an says that “and he created you in pairs”. this is a strong argument since it suggests that Allah only made every muslim with one partner in mind, so you shouldn’t go against that.

one muslim view is that a man can divorce his wife. for example, in order to do this a man can say “i divorce you” three times, this is called talaq in arabic. this is a weak argument because saying it with no witnesses around will not justify it ever happening, meaning that the divorce may be unvalid.

one christian view is that marriage is a lifelong commitment which shouldn’t be ended. for example the bible says that “a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh”. this is a strong argument because if you are joined by one flesh there is no way you should be seperated.

another view on divorce is that it is the lesser of two evils. for example, murder is more hated in the eyes of god than divorce. this is a strong argument because there are much more immoral things to do in life than divorce, such as murder, stealing etc.
