Drugs legally obtained with a doctor’s consent.
Define ‘Illegal Drugs’
Drugs which are illegal to possess.
Define ‘Social Drugs’
Drugs used for social reasons that can be addictive, such as alcohol, nicotine and caffeine.
Define ‘Rehabilitation’
Process by which addicts are helped in their addiction to drugs.

Explain Christian views towards alcohol.
Christians believe that alcohol can be drunk in moderation, but it should not be abused. Jesus’ first miracle was to turn water into wine, he told his followers to drink and remember him.
Explain Islamic views towards alcohol.
Alcohol is “haram”, forbidden by Allah, because of the harmful effects that it can have. Also it causes people to lose control, meaning they are unable to pray properly.
Explain Christian views towards smoking.
The Bible says nothing about tobacco, it was not invented upon the writing of the Bible. Most Christians do not condone smoking as it damages your body, God’s creation.
Explain Islamic views towards smoking.
Tobacco was not discovered at the time of writing the Qur’an, but most Muslims believe that it should be avoided as it damages your body.
Explain Christian views towards illegal drugs.
Christians believe that you should not harm your body. Also they believe that you should obey the law “The government has God’s authority” - St Paul

Muslims believe that all illegal drugs are poisons or “khamr”. They are seen as a weapon of the devil “If you want to prosper, stay away from these thing” - Qur’an

Christians believe that God forgives those whose lives have been spoilt by drink or drugs. Christians believe in rehabilitation, so help through shelters or foundations.
