Secularism

where people are uncertain about the existence of God, or people’s ability to know if God exists
Humanism
based on the understanding that the world itself and human beings reveal all. Human reason is the foundation for every situation and action in the world
Creeds
profession of faith, something that lists the beliefs of a group of people.
Are used at baptism, a creed is also recited at most masses around the world.

Apostles creed
is from the first apostles and talks of God, Jesus and Basic beliefs. is about what the first christian taught and believed
Nicene creed
commonly used in most catholic churches
emphasis the holy trinity in 3 parts and elaborates on simple statements and heresies and is more detailed than the apostles creed.
Revelation
is the continuing and dynamic in which God personally communicates with us. When he reveals himself to us
Example: When God made himself known to people when he came out to Abraham and his decedents
Where God reaches out through revelation
It is when God reaches out or speaks or guides us through things like the bible, religious signs and symbols, rituals and sacraments . He can also reach out through creation.
Examples: Bible in the OLD TESTAMENT - the creation stories, the covenant etc.
The climax of Gods self-revelation was the life, death and resurrection of Jesus.
Denomination / division in the church
range of different groupings. These groupings can be a result of different priorities, interpretations of belief, different approaches to leadership, history, culture or practices.
Religion
a gathering of people who share common beliefs about their experiences of God or Gods
Disputes in the church
solved through discussion and prayer and they sought guidance from Jesus and the holy spirit
Catechism
A summary of beliefs and teachings of Christian religion in the form of questions and answers used for religious instruction
Ecumenism
the principle or aim of promoting unity among the world’s Christian Churches.
